The New York Fashion Week made its fashion statements for next fall, and even if every designer was creative in a unique way, all managed to combine feminine and masculine looks.

The designer has been inspired by the Italian colors like baby blue, soft pink, pale purple, but he also used white decorated with artwork motives to create abstract designs. He combined softer pastels like cherry and lavender tones with stronger tones. For instance, a flowing skirt has been highlighted by an over-sized dark collar.

Rodarte

Rodarte focused on neutral earthly colors combined with metallic colors of blue and fuchsia that were the foundation of well-structured outfits. Straight skirts combined with matching berets and cozy shawls added a bit of sophistication to the female appearance. A spectacular touch was brought in by Princess Leia inspired gowns with lace and prints picturing the characters from Star Wars.

Vera Wang

She focused on black and bug-printed clothes, just like the beetle-printed knit. Pencil skirts and tailored coats are a must-have of the season, and dark floral prints were matched perfectly with flowing layers, creating an interesting look. Romantic gothic gowns especially made for strong and confident women offered a touch of fantasy to the collection.

Olivier Theyskens has managed to obtain a light look even from layered knits. With different shades of grey and long skirts this collections proved to be a quite popular one. Asymmetric clothes like a ruffled coat at the hip or hitched up skirts offered the designs a sense of geometry.

There is one word that describes this year’s collection perfectly and that is luxury. Dark shades were in center of attention creating unique outfits with subtle romantic accents. Even if body hugging dresses were the collection’s main focus, fluid pants and daring ready to wear items have been present too, as well as interesting combinations of wool, leather and fur.

Tory Burch

The designer has focused over the medieval printed armor style clothes.  Metallic dresses were combined with fur muffs and equestrian print tops. She used high socks and chain link belts, combined with rich tapestry inspired fabrics and bejeweled embroidery highlights.

Donna Karan

She knows that today’s woman is smart, sexy and modern, so her fashion designs have been especially created for this kind of women. Using belts and bodysuit dresses, she created sexy looks that accentuate the female figure. Classic cuts were in the center of this collection. Medium skirts, tailored jackets and coats, spectacular slits of evening gown but overall simple lines and classy finish , makes this one of the most wearable collection of the next fall.
