Victoria Beckham has been known for her voice back in the days. Since then a lot has changed and lately she made a name for herself on the fashion scene. Her past collections had a lot of success and now she returned with the SS14 collection which brings new shapes to the fashion world.
A little while ago the new collection hit the runways. It is impossible to imagine a fashion show of Victoria Beckham without her husband, David Beckham and their daughter (the future fashionista), Harper. They have been spotted along with Anna Wintour from Vogue.
As you may have already gotten used to it, at the end the designer steps on the runway for their bow. Victoria chose a monochrome outfit with loose slacks, super-feminine and super-high heels, and a simple white shirt, which is a statement for the boyish trends that she would like to set along with the feminine elements.
What to Expect?
If you take a look at the collection, you will find styles that represent a combination of boyish and girlish elements like sharp masculine shapes with frilled and ruffled hems, triangle patterned bags, and fuchsia colored items for a lovely feminine touch.
The shoes that were presented in the collection are relatively simple. The designer chose closed-toe, slip-on heels mostly in neutral shades or in black and white. For the simple and casual outfits she opted for flat sandals that don’t draw too much attention.
Although, as it has been mentioned before, Victoria had a boyish approach, there were also a lot of dresses. Even though a dress is always a representation of feminity, in this case the dresses were functional instead of being sexy and feminine.
Not all items were boyish. In fact there was one dark red colored dress that caught the attention of the public. This came with a V neck and two wide straps. In order to enhance the silhouette of the wearer, it comes with a wide belt on the waist. The bottom side is asymmetric, using white fabric to avoid being too revealing.
One of the specific elements of the collection is a display of geometric elements which offers the entire collection a modern and futuristic look. It is common to see triangle shaped patterns incorporated even in the most feminine pieces of clothing. Naturally we can see some squares as well.
