The show of Burberry is always an important one to attend. Each time it comes with theatrical elements. Just as it was to be expected, the latest show was no different. On this occasion the police closed Kensington Gardens for traffic and there was a huge tent set up near Albert Memorial.
Since it is such a big thing, it is no wonder that there are just as many paparazzi as guests. They all tried to catch a glimpse at Alexa Chung, Harry Styles, and the current face of the label, Sienna Miller. Everything was perfectly set, including the music and lilting.
Everything You Could See
The guests were surprised by the falling petals at the end of the show. The star of the show has been the trench coat which got a pale lilac color with lace and a design that is tight to the body. The most important pieces have been presented by Cara Delevingne.
All the well-known ingredients of Burberry were present. However, this time there were no studs, form-fitting glamour, and no hard-hitting but rather cashmere sweaters and roomy coats. It looks like Christopher Bailey entered the relaxed mode because the host seemed to have been more at ease. He sent e-mail messages a few minutes before the show and he welcomed the guests in a very casual manner.
Although the collection was supposed to be a summery one, it is no wonder that the host chose cashmere since as the sun goes down the temperature drops considerably this season.
The colors that we could see on the runway include macaroon colors. These soft colors are just perfect for the lacy dresses and pencil skirts and they are suitable for the coats as well. In order to add a splash of color the designers added sheepskin clutches that came in dark pink and orange color.
Suede Tan and Grey
Besides the accessories, on this occasion there were no other elements in screaming colors. Grey school cardigans and suede tan coats were the hallmark of the collection. The brooches, however, added an element of surprise. These appeared on the lace dresses and at the waists of the loose necked coats.
The designer used an idea presented earlier this year: the dresses were held on the shoulders of the models with the help of jewels. It looks like this will become the next big thing. We shouldn’t be surprised to see more of these dresses on the runways.
