— Timeless and classic wardrobe essentials that never go out of style!

OK, so times are a little tough right now and with the change in seasons you may not be able to pamper yourself or splurge on next season’s latest trends like you did last year or like you really wish you could this year.

There are a few wardrobe essentials that are timeless and classic and will never go out of style. These items will always be the backbone to a hot, stylish and yet very classic outfit.

Chances are you have most of these items in your closet. If not, you can head to your nearest outlet store, vintage shop or second-hand boutique to complete your must-have and essential wardrobe items.

1. Little Basic Black Dress

You knew it would be on the list. The ‘LBD’ is a wardrobe staple and timeless fashion piece. Your LBD can be paired with a pair of high heels (also on our list) and jewelry for a night out, as well as paired with a shrug and belted in with a large cinched belt for a more casual look.

Whatever the occasion that arises, your LBD can be made perfect for that occasion. Think Audrey Hepburn and in the same thought, think Pink.

2. Trench Coat

I got my first trench coat for my 30th birthday which is in March. It is an Ann Taylor soft lime green colored very classic trench coat.

My trench is one of the best gifts I have ever received as it was definitely something I would never have bought for myself yet now that I own one I will never go without one again. The trench is a perfect accessory for the business professional women yet also goes great with jeans or a pencil skirt.

3. Classic Black Dress or Trouser Pants

I am pretty sure I have at least 5 pairs of classic black trouser pants in my closet. Of course, to my boyfriend they all look the same and he thinks I found one pair of pants that looked good so I bought five pairs. This is not the case however.

A pair of classic black pants is so incredibly versatile they are an essential item for your wardrobe. Black pants are the item that you throw on with a cute top and a pair of heels when you aren’t sure what to wear. Or, you throw on an oversized shirt, belt it in and put on some flats.

Both ways you are stylish, classic and you look like you spent hours planning your outfit that morning.

4. Classic White Button Down Dress Shirt

The class white button down dress shirt is not just for men or professional women. This is an essential item to have in your wardrobe that can be paired with jeans and heels, your black classic trousers and better yet, your pencil skirt.

5. Snug-Fitting or Even Cropped Blazer

Essential to your wardrobe. Enough said! The blazer looks fabulous and chic with a pair of great jeans and heels, and can be paired with your LBD, your black trousers (depending on the color) and pretty much anything else in your wardrobe.

Most popular uses for the blazer are to dress up a pair of jeans or to add to an outfit when you aren’t sure how ‘mature’ or professional you need to look.

6. Pair of Jeans You Feel Sexy In

Ahhhh the denim jeans, one of the wardrobe essentials. Most of us have more than one pair, in fact many of us have as many pairs of jeans as we do have shoes. The most important part about this being on our Top 10 list is you need to feel sexy in them.

How many pairs of jeans do you have that you loved last year when they fit a bit better, or when they weren’t quite so worn? My secret is whenever I find a pair of jeans I love I buy 2 pairs.

Essentially you wouldn’t have to buy jeans for a very long time! My favorite jeans are my White House Black Market boutique jeans. For those of us on a budget, however I have a pair of “Stella” jeans from The Express that fit like a glove. They’re pretty perfect.

7. Pencil Skirt

Doesn’t matter what color, what texture, what brand, just make sure you have a pencil skirt in your closet.

8. Classic Pair of Heels

I honestly am not one for spending insane amounts of money on my shoes; however that being said a classic pair of high heels is so very important and as with most things, you get what you pay for. I have had good luck with Colin Stuart heels as well as nine West heels.

9. Great Pair of Versatile Earrings

Earrings can seriously make an outfit. I would recommend a great pair of hoops in wardrobe essentials – medium sized. Platinum preferably or, if you can get your hands on them, Premiere Jewelry has a pair of silver and gold hoops. The silver and gold is delicately intertwined; so you can complete your outfit with either of them.
