Beginning of a new year points to getting a new wardrobe and revamping your makeup essentials too. The Spring Summer 2013 ramp walks showcased the latest trends to follow in makeup this year. Here is a sneak peek preview into the latest in makeup trends for the next season.
Eye Is the Focus
All the top fashion weeks have showcased the best predictions for makeup and focused their effort on highlighting the eyes. Colored liners, extra long lashes and jeweled lids are the trends to follow this summer. Metallic shadows and bolder lids were the choice of top designer shows for this season. Fluttery eye lashes replaced the grungy lashes of the previous shows.
Minimalist Skin Makeup
With eyes taking the centre stage for spring, rest of the skin will be going nude to neutral. Flawless skin will be the trend, with cheeks showing a flush of pink. Powdered matte finish is the trend that replaces the glossy makeup of the previous season.
When nude is chosen as the makeup style then we are left with lips to highlight, and what better way than going bold. Fuchsia, indigo and magenta lip colors stole the limelight at all the shows. Scarlet and bold corals in velvety finish will also be popular lip colors of summer this year.
Pretty Sixties Look
Another vintage trend that is making a comeback is the sixties look. Nude makeup, filled in brows, doe eyes and nude lips played together on the ramp to bring back the sixties look to the new millennium.
Brown and Bronze
Shades of brown have received due attention on the ramp for this year too. Hues such as caramel defined the eyes and the face in the Roberto Cavalli and Alexander Wang shows while bronze dominated the Gucci and Versace shows.
