Latest Street Style From The New York Fashion Week, 2012
Street style was talked about as much as the runway style during this season’s New York Fashion Week.
Novelty shirts, bold prints and leather outfits are some of the off-shoots of the runway fashion adapted to street wear.
Here are a few styles that are trending and could add to your wardrobe this fall:
Overalls

This vintage style is making a comeback this year. From denim to corduroys, cropped pants to short skirts, overalls are available in all shapes and sizes this season. You could pair them with chick looking and sleek heels to give a feminine look, or go for sneakers if tomboy is your style.
Fun furs

Fur is synonymous with the colder months and so easier to adapt to the streets. With fur stoles as starters, fur can be extended to LBDs, chubby jackets and colorful vests. Feather collars and dress accents in feather are some of the extensions to the fur look.
Cheeky tops

Printed tops and sweat shirts are the in-things this season. Anything from cartoon characters to word art and cool logos add splash to your autumn wear.
Animal prints

Be it on your shirt, jacket or shoes, animal prints lend the style to any piece of clothing that you wear. Leopard prints on coats and boots are more in vogue. Zebra-inspired knits are other hot favorites. Try them out and amp up your style.
Tweed tops

Polished tweed tops may keep you warm but are just as cool on the exterior. Couple them with skinny jeans or tomboy shorts to give you a cool makeover.
Motorcycle jackets

Look like a tough chic by sporty these uber cool motorcycle jackets. They not only look racy but are also versatile. You can pair them with polished pants, jeans and T-shirts. Though the classic versions are in leather, you could also choose denim ones.
Extra volume outerwear

Over coats which have extra volume are the outfits of choice for the Europeans. They pair well with everything from booties to oxfords and sneakers too. One can go for the trendy floral patterns, psychedelic prints or monochromatic.
Flare dress

Flare dresses in the fitted variety are up for grabs this season. They are very feminine and display the silhouettes of flattering structures. They look stunning with a pair of matching heels. One can go for geometric prints or just plain denim skirts and pair them up appropriately.
Shorts

Short shorts are the fashionistas’ new fetish. Those with long legs can show them off in style. Choose from denim to printed and silky to leather fabrics for varying styles.
Luxe leather

Leather is omnipresent on the street these days. It looks equally edgy when worn as a skirt, shorts or a pant. It is ultimate luxury achieved with minimum effort. If you are wearing an all leather outfit then go for color blocking. Use of contrasting colors will produce the desired effect and break monotony. Peplums in leather are other favorites for the season.
