Top Shoe Trends for Spring Summer 2012
When summer comes it’s not enough to have the perfect dress. You also need a perfect pair of shoes to go with it. In case you are looking for some new trends, there are some that we noticed on the runways and you can be sure that these will have a major influence on you.
Metallic toes
You may think that this trend will make the shoes tougher or less feminine, but the goal is different. This is a new technique that the designers are using to make the shoes more durable and in the same time, there is a major focus on the metallic elements. The collections to consider include the ones of Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton and Thakoon.

Pointed toes
If you thought that you escaped these shoes for good, you were wrong. It looks like they are making a comeback, and a strong one. The rounded toes have been switched for the more feminine pointed toes that usually can be seen in case of shoes, while the booties and sandals will keep the round toes. In this case, consider the collections of Sophie Theallet, Anthony Vaccarello and Alexander Wang.

Braided sandals
It is a must to have a pair of braided sandals to look hot during the summer. You may have missed this style, but it is making a comeback and it is more interesting than ever before due to the unusual colors and the special braiding styles. You could be inspired by the collections of Dolce & Gabbana, Loewe, or Antonio Berardi.

Platforms
Some people think that there is nothing new that the platforms could offer us, but they are wrong. This season the designers have taken the concept one-step further and they achieved a strange style that cannot be called feminine and is everything but comfortable. Nonetheless you may be a fan of the style and if this is the case, make sure to take a look at the designs of Celine, Nina Ricci, Rochas, Yves Saint Laurent, Proenza Schouler and Untied Bamboo.
Transparent shoes
You think you have seen it all? Maybe this season has something new to offer. Although there have been some attempts last season to introduce these shoes, these weren’t exactly successful, but now the style has made it to the top. Don’t be afraid to try on the creations of Richard Nicoll, Philip Lim, Aquastucum, Erdem, Versus, and Manish Arora.
Sparkle
Since it is very trendy to wear shiny pieces of clothing, women also need some shoes to go with them, and this is why you will find so many different concepts of shiny shoes. The most popular colors are considered to be silver and gold, but there are some other colors as well for you to try. Give a shot to the collections of Gianfranco Ferre, Rodarte, Bottega Veneta, No21, Calvin Klein, and Dolce & Gabbana.
Rivets
There is no escape from the rivets in this season. They come on any kind of shoes, including sandals and biker boots.
